I need to boost morale in this two-person-one-dog operation. So I created an Employee of the Month program. So December’s Employee of the Month is Eric (well, I couldn’t very well pick myself the first time – that would be obnoxious). Eric’s accomplishments for the month of December: Completed a workshop at Saltbox Crafters; Caught up on some overdue orders; Purchased a new tool for the workshop; Washed the dog (he gets extra points for that); Completed materials for workshop in Florida; Got a head-start on making materials for the Shaker Box workshop at John C. Campbell School in March; Successfully completed his second year being the Commissioner of our Fantasy Football League (not work related but it shows he’s a well-rounded individual with extra-curricular activities); Got the snow blower working; Organized the shipping department (the corner of the workshop that was waist-high with boxes spilling over so you could not get to the shelves or the circuit breakers when the power went out); and did extra house-cleaning while I was getting the magazine to the printers (also not work-related but shows dedication and helpfulness outside of work). So for all your shining moments Eric, you are the Employee of the Month!
