Vintage Native American Splint Basket

My close friend Karen, who is a vintage and marketing genius, came across a nice Native American splint basket at an estate sale of 90+ years way up in Maine. She’s been selling on etsy.com since 2007 and has a perfect record. So you can trust everything you buy from her online shop.

It has great color and Mr. Basketmaker himself was impressed by how well the prior owner protected and preserved this basket. Karen was told by the estate that this collector stored her baskets in a closed cabinet, away from light. That’s why the colors have been so well-preserved.

So if you are a collector, this is a good find indeed! Click here for the link to her awesome vintage shop! Buy it before it’s gone. Her stuff does not last too long. Trust me.

Karen’s final word about this basket which is in true “Mainer” form?
“WICKED GOOD.”

I do agree.
