I enjoy traveling with Eric around the country for his teaching engagements. What I probably dislike the most is the many germs you meet while on the road. It’s hard to avoid coming in contact with them. Especially in hotel rooms. We were watching a show once and happened to see a woman who carried a travel size Lysol disinfectant spray can in her purse and was spraying all the door handles, toilet flush handle, all the light switches, etc. We both said to each other “We need to get that!” I immediately jumped on my laptop and headed to my favorite online store where I found it in bulk with free ‘super saver shipping’ (if you have enough in your shopping cart). So I thought I would share this tidbit for other like-minded travelers as one of my Healthy Travel Tips. If you do not like buying in bulk, there were others that were available as singles or smaller packs (if you cannot find it in your store of course). Eric will tell you that I’m a little crazy and could go through one can in a single trip. So the bulk size will not last us long! But we do save a little by not having to use it on the remote control (see Healthy Travel Tip #1) which is the most germ-infested item in a hotel room.

Eric is very particular about the packing of the vehicle. He needs to have enough 'empty space' so he doesn't feel all enclosed and have some 'breathing room.' Like I said. I choose my battles!
Glad to know the hookers have been banned. I was considering ordering more Lysol for the trip out to St. Louis.
Oh OK then, I guess it wouldn't do to have you run along side the car on the way to classes since the car was over packed.
No, the hookers aren't allowed in the guest room anymore and definitely aren't allowed to touch any of the doorknobs. You should be fine.
Oh Tony!! I have said the same thing. But we have a small travel bag that is packed with the 'essentials' and remains packed all year. So it is small to fit in this bag. When we're enroute to a workshop, we bring one bag that's for staying at the hotels on the road. Eric gets upset if I pack an extra pair of socks for that bag! So, since this is for his work, I minimize aggrevating him as much as possible. Also, we recycle here in New Hampshire! So the packaging does not get thrown out. However, there is one place we do stay at (it's a hotel, nobody's home) and it's the only one in the area so we have to stay there. We do bring a GIANT CAN with us to spray down EVERYTHING. So the smaller can size is only for our little travel bag. AND – Tony, we have been to your house. We do not need to spray anything there. Unless you're in the habit of letting hookers stay in your guest room???
OK, so this may be a silly question, but if you will really use it that much and since you travel by car, wouldn't it be more economical just to buy a full-size can of Lysol? Would it really take up that much more space? Just a thought. You would have less packaging to throw away too.
If you two come back to my place to teach and stay with me, am I going to get a whiff of Lysol not long after you move into the guest room? ;-P
Cool! We did not even know this stuff existed. So I'm glad I shared it here! Especially for those who do use it like yourself, and I found a cheaper option. Both of us being self-employed artists, we need to stretch our dollars as far as possible!
