Sorry for the delay in Friday’s Five Questions. We’ve been watching the news all day regarding the theater tragedy in Colorado and I was not in the “asking-five-questions” kind of mood. Our prayers go out to the families affected by this horrible shooting.
So the following questions will be pretty simple this week.
Q: What do you think about the job I did on Chance’s haircut?
Eric: You did such a good job this time I can’t call him Patches. Your dog grooming skills are really improving!! But, I miss Patches. Where’s Patches? Come Patches!
Q: What were you working on today?
Eric: Among other things, I’ve been working on the Missouri convention materials and Tony’s workshop. Specifically, I worked on the Shaker apple basket handles and rims, and a whole bunch of other stuff that you wouldn’t understand.
(Editor’s note: I wouldn’t understand? Don’t let him fool you. He was probably on twitter talking politics.)
Q: So you will soon be sending your new exhibit basket, Morning Song, over to the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen. Are you happy? relieved? nervous?
Eric: I’m not nervous. I’m mainly relieved because I finally finished the basket. Well, maybe I am a little nervous wondering if I will ever see the basket again. I priced it high enough, so maybe it will come back home. The last time I was in this exhibit, I sold it.
Q: What aggravated you this week?
Eric: That you are asking me these questions at 9:45 pm Friday night! While we are at it, where are the bios? This October it will be a year since you started your blog and still no bios...
(Editor’s note: I suffer from severe procrastination. Is there a drug for that???)
Q: What are you most looking forward to on our next trip to St. Louis?!
Eric: The heat. I have always wondered how hot it gets in St. Louis in August. I’m about to ask myself, “What the heck was I thinking!”
(Editor’s note: I remember that Tony had awesome air conditioning in his workshop. So much so, I had to put on a sweater last year. So I think you’re all set.)
Careful what you wish for. It has been in the hundreds here in St. Louis forever it seems. We almost broke the record of straight days in the hundreds this year. I think we had 11 or 12 days in a row and the record was 15 (I could have the exact numbers wrong). It has been beastly, but since we have had absolutely no rain the humidity has been low. Looks like if the forecast holds it will only be in the mid-nineties while you are here for class. I will take a 10 degree drop in temperature even if that still means 95! Thank goodness we are going to be in the basement!

We like low humidity. It’s been rather high here. At least we can pack a little light! No bulky sweaters and heavy coats!
I think your scarves and warm woolen mittens can remain packed away for another trip. Though you might have to go sweater shopping. One of the thrift stores near me has everything half-priced on the last Wednesday of the month! You might have to make a visit on the day after class. I have to work otherwise I would fight you for the best deal. There is a slight chance that I will still take off that Wednesday, so it may still be on! LOL
LOL!! I’m a thrift fanatic! However, I’m most likely taking the train up to Joliet, IL and then Chicago after that. My nephew has made it to the semi-finals in baseball and next Saturday and Sunday they are playing in the State Championship. The winner goes to Texas for the Little League Championship! So, since I’m less than 4 hours away, I should probably go and cheer him on! But I will take the train back on Monday so will probably be gone for two nights. You’ll have to entertain Eric all by yourself!!
