Q from Cathy: How long does it take to design a basket?
Eric: It depends on the intricacy of the design or whether it’s a new shape, etc. Sometimes, I’ll have an idea for another basket that is based on a prior basket shape whereas it does not take too long to figure out. Other times it’s a completely new configuration and takes time to figure out the number of staves and weavers, the width, lengths, etc. So there’s really not a clear-cut design time.
Q: Boxers or briefs?
Eric: Are you kidding? Boxers and sometimes commando! (editor’s note: sorry to the ones who find this question as TMI!)
Q: What will you be working on for the next few days?
Eric: Today I am building some shelves behind my drill press area and organizing that part of the workshop. Tomorrow, since we will be getting 60 degree weather, it’s time to finish all the yard work we have seriously neglected. (editor’s note: the weeds are blocking our view.)
Q: What annoyed you this week?
Eric: Do you really want to ask me that this week? (editor’s note: Oh, yeah… the election. He gets a pass on that.)
