Her biggest competition in the “American Made” contest is a crochet business. I learned how to crochet from my grandmother when I was a kid and it is a wonderful craft. Now that I’m married to a basketmaker I see firsthand all the time that is spent in making one basket — processing the materials alone is a craft in itself! So basketry is definitely deserving of this “American Made” award!
