I’ve posted here on several occasions about Betty-Sue, our visiting cow. She is stopping in more often now and roaming all over the place like she owns it. Today, she walked right up our driveway with speedy intent, banged a right at the fence and walked through the small opening into our side field and then on over to the backyard. We have never seen her do that before. She obviously knew where she was going!
But my fascination is slowly turning into a bit of an annoyance. Because with a roaming cow, you now have to pay close attention to where you walk during your morning stroll and a closer eye on our dog who finds these “cow patties” and thinks they are giant treats sent down from a canine fairy! Betty-Sue is no fairy—I’m just saying. When we lived in the city, I was tired of people throwing trash in the sidewalk or on our lawn. But at least we could simply pick it up and throw it in the trash! We really need to fence in the rest of our yard.
So in the meantime, I’ll take some nice photos to remember her by!
However, while I was ordering steel push pins for Eric on Amazon for his next basket workshop, I decided to look up “cows” and came across this book. Maybe we should keep Betty-Sue around! Looks like a stray cow would be very good for our little piece of Earth over here in middle Tennessee.
she looks yummy 🙂 would solve problem 🙂
that is terrible! Maybe she comes to visit because we only eat veggie burgers here!
Betty-Sue is so interesting & cute. Thanks for the photos, they’re great.
Sure I would not like the patties but Betty – Sue is so sweet and
Pretty color. There has to be a good reason she returns to your
Property. One thing for sure, she know nice people when she finds them!
Ha ha… thanks Jan! She visits us every day! Sometimes at 2 in the morning! Not kidding.
Do you know who she belongs to? Maybe you can talk to her owners. Why is she roaming off her property? Maybe they need to fence it in.
We think we do. They have tons of cows but they’re way far, across the street and over in the field. There’s no fence at all but no other cow comes even close to the road! Except for her of course. And she crosses the road and right over to our yard! It’s very peculiar. She’s very independent.
