Five Questions Friday: I Need A Vacation

Q: What was inside the stack of boxes you shipped today?
Eric: They were the parts for my students who are taking classes at the Georgia Basket Association. They need to do some sanding to get a head start before the workshop begins.

Q: Brenda, our post lady, gives Chance those giant biscuits. And not just one, she always gives him two! Aren’t you concerned he will secretly hop in her jeep one day because she has better goodies than us?
Eric: Uhm… no. I’m not worried about that at all. I’m more concerned that he will learn to jump on everyone’s vehicles who come to visit, looking for a dog treat. If you’re a delivery person out here, you drive a beat up Jeep Wrangler with lots of dog scratches all over your door because of all the dogs hanging out in the yards run up to greet you.

Q: I want some of that Alaskan mud mask from the glacial facial gal on Shark Tank. Don’t you?
Eric: What? No. I don’t.

Q: When and where are we going on vacation this year?
Eric: Again, what? We don’t go on vacations. Besides, you sort of go on many vacations already — traveling with me to all my workshops.
(Don’t want to burst your bubble but that is not a vacation. I do have fun, but I’m still working for my clients when we travel!)

Q: What annoyed you this week?
Eric: Well as you know one of our go-to radio shows when we are on the road, and sometimes while working, is Dave Ramsey.  Remember when I said I wish I could think of who did his intro song and you said you thought it was his own song? I laughed because it was a classic from either the late 70’s or early 80’s. It just bugged me all week until I decided to look it up. Of course it is Gerry Rafferty’s Baker Street. Check out the grooving sax player. He reminds me of the cowbell skit on SNL.
(I don’t have any idea what you’re talking about… Baker Street, grooving, cowbell skit… whatever. But I’ll still post your video for ya.)

If you have not heard of Dave Ramsey and want to live a completely debt-free life, check out his radio show. You can also listen to him online direct from his website. Or you could read one of his books. The Total Money Makeover is the first one you should start with. I read it awhile ago. It’s great. And I just bought a copy for my sister. I also gave my nephews the Financial Peace for Juniors. He has lots of other stuff too… check it out below.
