Shouldn’t it be a Lathe Station?

Mr. Basketmaker worked most of the day building his new lathe station. Oh, wait… I mean a workbench. I think.

Eric and I got in a little disagreement that has lasted for a couple hours because I’m insisting the photos below are showing his new Lathe Station. And He is insisting it is not a “STATION.” It’s a workbench.

But when you add in all the tools that go with the lathe, and this is where you do “lathing” isn’t it now a lathe station? Oops… I guess it’s not called “lathing” either!  The disagreement continues….

Sure looks like a Lathe Station to me Mr. Basketmaker!

He even made mini shelves off his new workbench to hold all his special lathing tools. Oh wait, it’s not called lathing tools. But then he can’t even tell me what they’re named other than the tools you use for turning wood! So I guess I should have said these are his mini shelves off his new workbench that hold all the tools he uses for turning wood? I think “lathing tools” sound much better…

Now he’s upset with me because he said the photos I posted make his “station” and workshop look much nicer than what it actually looks like in person. He says it’s “false advertising.” Just like all the celebrities who wear pancake makeup to cover up everything so they look flawless…. Ah what??? I’m just trying to show pictures of his new workbench!! LOL.

All in the life of a basketmaker’s wife…

  1. First, I know it will only look this clean for 5 minutes… but I say it is a workbench with a lathe on it LOL! but it is for turning, not lathing… sorry Lynne 🙂

    1. Ha ha! Thanks Anette! Yeah, I sort of know that but it was more fun annoying Mr. Basketmaker while I was questioning him during the time I was writing this post!

    2. Oh yes… and you are absolutely correct about the “5 minutes”! He wanted me to wait and take pictures after he installed the shelves on the back wall but I knew this would be the cleanest it would ever be!! LOL.

  2. Do those windows need to be washed? Why aren’t ALL those spindle-looking things standing up straight? Does that tin can contraption work well as an intercom (image #1) between buildings. Why isn’t Mr. Basketmaker in the picture? Just saying.

    1. Yes, those windows need to be washed! But in Mr. Basketmaker’s defense, the sawdust that is produced in that room coats the windows as well… And I know you are joking about the “spindle” things and the tin intercom!! LOL! And why isn’t Mr. Basketmaker in the picture? Because he kept running away!
