GF? Good Friend? Great Friend? Girlfriend?
No. Godfather!
While I was in New Hampshire over Labor Day weekend, I was able to check out one of my Uncle Ed’s latest projects. He is a talented builder and in honor of his birthday today, I want to share some of the photos I took of his craftsmanship — from a different angle.
My cousin Kerryn (his daughter) and I were drooling over this wall oven over on the left of the above image! And I don’t even cook!
I have lots to say about this next one…
I’m an abstract painter and I love all the angles in this above pic (Actually, I’m using it for inspiration on my next painting). Centered and balanced is not my thing. And I appreciate the intersections my uncle created in the front portion of the main living space of this characteristic home: from the hanging pendant lamps’ vertical cords, to the cross beams to the ceiling pitch, the pluming lights, the tiny octagon window above a multi-framed picture window, the brace’s rivets, to the stone and wood… I could go on! This view captures so much energy! (for me anyways…)
Placing these random railroad stakes within the stones was brilliant! (Okay… I’m shamelessly attempting to get brownie points so I’m invited back to his mountain-top cabins in Pittsburg!)
The above image was taken from the second floor guest bedroom. He built a cool window with shutters that could be opened to look down below.
I’m very lucky to have so many creative people in my family. Happy 70th Birthday Uncle Ed. (Actually, I initially typed in “60th” – probably because you don’t look a day over 59!
Wow, his is an amazing craftsman/artist! That’s so cool……….Thanks for sharing the photos.
You are welcome. And yes, he is.
So very creative, thanks for the great photos; and a Happy Birthday to your uncle I hope he enjoys it.
