I was FaceTiming with my TalPal (cousin) Kerryn yesterday about our new funky renovated porch off the workshop and she said “Lynne, you should put that on your blog” and I said “Wait… I have a blog?”
I know. I’ve neglected my poor blog. But I couldn’t help it… I became obsessed with Instagram! It is too addicting. I was posting on there every day up until March when we were in New Hampshire for the funeral. So, now that I’m back to updating my Insta I also need to breath some new life into my old blog. It won’t take much work since I have so many posts in my “drafts” folder waiting to be uploaded.
Awhile back, Eric did some renovating of the first room in his workshop. When we first moved in, a small portion of drywall was removed which revealed wood walls, but with layers of wallpaper and glue. Back then, there wasn’t any time to refinish the wall so Eric set up his wall of tools right over it. He didn’t bother re-drywalling the section because he eventually wanted to restore the wood.
Here’s a closeup photo of the wall before…
I walked into the workshop one afternoon and discovered Eric completely restoring that original section of wall. He then decided to remove all the drywall and keep going…
Isn’t it gorgeous? I’m so jelly!
I told Mr. Basketmaker I now want these kind of walls in my office. He replied “you have so much stuff in your office you can’t even see the walls.” He has a point…
I thought you were crazy when you wanted to start a blog. Not because that you couldn’t do it, but because I knew how hard it would be to keep it going long term. After over 500 posts the break was much needed to recharge the creative batteries. Welcome back! I already have some interesting things I would like to get out there.
Why thank you Mr. Basketmaker. But not sure I want to bring back 5 questions… that’s what created all the work – hunting you down and putting up with your whining on every question… except “what aggravated you” – that question you seemed to enjoy answering.
Welcome back ya’ll. Wondered what happened to you!!
Beautiful wall, makes a person wonder why they were covered up. Do visit us more often. Missed you
Oh my, that truly is gorgeous. Great job Eric.
