We’ve been fostering kittens numerous times over the spring and summer and last Friday I picked up another foster… but just one kitten! Now, I’m thinking one kitten? This will be easy! Uhm, no! This kitten is full of energy. Awesome kitten, but it’s almost non-stop! And it currently has free range in the house because he’s house-trained and figured out where everything was pretty fast.
I ended up naming him Hermie after Eric’s Hermit Pack Basket. Why? Because while I was talking to a friend about why Eric named his pack basket “Hermit,” the foster coordinator texted me to meet her downtown to pick up the kitten.
But he has two issues: 1) he cannot stop pouncing, biting and wrapping himself all over Izzy! and 2) he loves chewing on phone wires, computer wires, power strip cords you name it! This morning I watched him get ready to pounce on our retro oscillating fan!
Again, I will reiterate, he’s an awesome kitten and will be a great cat. But today, while working in my office with Izzy in her chair, Hermie kept climbing up and annoying Izzy as much as he could for hours… biting, scratching, climbing on her, chewing on her ear, her leg, her back, her paw, her tail..
So I decided to do a little photo shoot to occupy Hermie a little. And he had the same “zoomies” in the photo booth that he does around this house so out of about 100 pics, I only have these 3 that were in decent focus.
Hermie “hanging” in Eric’s Cottage Breadstick Basket…
When we finished with him in the 6-inch Mountain Tub, I was hoping he was getting a little tired…
And now, he’s tuckered out again and they both are fast asleep in Izzy’s bed…
By the way, Hermie is already adopted and his ‘furever home’ will be really lucky to have him part of the family. Eric and I were both saying today that we will really miss this kitten when he leaves!
Awesome kitty. Maybe a keeper just for Izzy?
He’s already adopted! Will be leaving for Massachusetts tomorrow.
Hermie is so cute! I think he’s just doing what kittens do best… biting, running around, pestering Izzy. They grow out of that after a few months to a year. If I was closer, I might think about taking him off your hands. But our other 4 cats wouldn’t be so enthused as me. Ha!
Snow in the mountains here in Colorado. Beautiful.
He’s leaving to go to his furever home up in Massachusetts tomorrow. So already adopted! And wow… snow already???
The kitty is absolutely gorgeous! Do you think Izzy will miss it?
I think she will. Even though he’s annoying her, she follows him around.
