Q: Alright, when did Miss Christy give you these ‘shop rags’ from Antique Archaeology?
Eric: oh, geez could it be a year ago?
I think it’s well over a year!
Q: Well I kept them from you long enough. Here you go, you can ruin them now, but I get to keep one. You happy now?
Eric: I tacked one up in my man cave so, at least one will survive.
Your man cave is looking like a dorm room, honestly. I think it needs a little decorating rehab!
No! But, funny you brought this up. I just texted the other night about another fan gift from Miss Howard. It was a tee shirt that said “I support two teams, the Red Sox and whoever beats the Yankees.” She is a major Yankees fan and knew I was a Red Sox fan. I sent her a photo of the tee and it’s collar rotting off. I told her I am bummed that I need to retire it. When I get a tee shirt with the right weight, material and fit I wear it to non-existence. After 10 years, it became a shop shirt but now I can’t even make a quick trip to Walmart in this shirt it’s so bad, dang!
This sounds like a lame attempt at getting another shirt!
Who me? Never.
You do have the best basket friends! You’re lucky. And I’m glad you are no longer wearing this shirt! It’s a hot mess. Maybe you should tack that up in your man cave as well… wait, sorry I said that. Don’t do that!
Q: So I picked up another single foster kitten on Sunday. What do you think of Groucho Marx?
Eric: He is one interesting looking cat. The markings on the face is pretty funny. You should put up a pic. Very friendly, energetic, cuddly, not ferrel.
Q: How was your wood run to Nashville today? Find anything unique?
Eric: Uneventful. I needed some wide cherry. They only had one board that is what I needed most. I picked up other boards but will need to find some wider stock for my larger projects.
Q: I’m changing it up… instead of what ‘aggravated you’ I’m going to ask what made you happy this week. Unless you have something you want to whine about...
Eric: Wrong week for the change—I am going to whine. Just found out that Virginia’s Guilders Weave in January has been canceled. The Georgia Basket Convention in February was canceled awhile ago. If Weaving in the Sunshine State Basket Weaving Retreat has to cancel then it will be one full year (March NCBA) that I have not taught basket making at a convention or a sponsored guild basket event! It seems like Weaving in the Sunshine State Basket Weaving Retreat is going ahead and what I can tell, be the first major basket event to take place since covid. Still, that is February 2021. Maybe basket makers need to come here to my workshop in Tennessee. We are having a small group arriving on Sunday for a weeklong class. I will have more about that soon and re-list the upcoming weeks I will teach here.
Next time I’m in Stowe, Vermont I’ll get you another Red Sox T. If they still have them
I’ll send you a check for this one!
LOL! Maybe I’ll get him a replacement for Christmas 😉
