Tidbits about June’s two workshops here in Tennessee

June was a whirlwind… Eric had two full weeks of workshops here and I took so many photos… hundreds of them. I’m still going through them and thought I’d post some quick stuff today.

I’m going to immediately dive into the first small tidbit: the best dressed were Tracey and Kathleen, donning their “Get America Making BASKETS again!” t-shirts for the Open House on Sunday. We loved seeing that. Put a huge smile on Eric’s face.

CoCo Kitty has been swapped with another cat’s personality either by lightning strike or something else more mysterious. For all who have been here, you know that she hides ALL week!! Never coming out. For six years she did this. The last two workshops? She was climbing on tables, finding homes inside baskets, playing with weavers…

She stayed right in the middle of the action. Here she is with Eric and Joyce. Who is this CAT???

Speaking of cats, I couldn’t get anyone to take home this poor homeless cat that’s been living on our property. He’s very sweet natured. Talks a lot. I’ll keep trying to convince someone during the next workshop : )

I named him Dobby.

Both workshops had a fierce, high winds, quick moving storm come through right after class…

We have never seen a snack spread like this!! A group of friends from the 2nd workshop take the cake! And there was lots of cake, via cake pops that were absolutely divine! This basket was packed fuller than this.

And I’m not showing you all the stuff in the fridge! Or all the wine! Which was the basis for their name which I’ll reveal later. Which now brings me to confession time… I couldn’t help it… around 8 pm, that snack basket was calling me… Fritos, Cheezits, Doritos, muffins…. ugh!! If any ladies noticed that your Lime Tortilla Chips seemed to be less than what it was the day before during lunch, it was me. I snuck in and snacked on those too. : (

When you come back next year, can you just bring Rice Cakes? I don’t hear them at all.

The light box / personal Photo Booth was a great hit for professional looking basket pics for all the students to shoot and share. Thanks Kathleen!! And for sending workshop photos to the NBO.

Peri was able to get a great group shot of her baskets—the sewing, large Carrier and the 5-inch Swing.

This week I will post more pics of the students and their baskets. I’m still recovering from the last few weeks. And so are Izzy and Mr. Squiggs…

Thanks everyone for the laughs and great conversations.

  1. Can I order basket kits without having taken a class from Eric? If so, where can I see what’s available?
