Weaving Between the Wines

Finally processed all the photos of the last workshop. There was a lot of basket making going on over here! (I apologize now for any of the corny captions!)

I think this is the only group shot I got… Debbie, Carol, Michelle, Mandie, Cindy, Joyce, Woody and Peri all working hard while Eric looks on.

Mandie working on her Tool Tote while Woody is packing those weavers nice and tight.

Cindy, Debbie and Michelle working on their baskets…

Here’s Peri hiding behind her uprights at the start of her Sewing Basket and here’s a closeup of her basket…she’s almost done weaving…

Michelle working on her Legacy tub. Joyce is done weaving and removing the mold from her Cottage Mail Basket.

Miss Carol moved to the kitchen for more space to finish her Tool Tote. Peri’s almost done with her basket…

Oh, here’s a good time to show why they named their group “Weaving Between the Wines.” Not only did they arrive with enough wine for a New Year’s Eve party (my kind of group!!!) but look at this! A late afternoon frozen concoction…

Mandie brought a small frozen drink maker and these were so yummy! They bring snacks, lunches, wine, desserts and make frozen alcoholic afternoon refreshments? When are y’all coming back???? No, really, when?!

I loved getting these three images of Miss Carol working on her Smith River Creel basket, at different stages…

Mandie working on the 12-inch Carrier basket and Debbie in the background, probably laughing at something funny Miss Joyce said!

Pic above on the right; Michelle working on the Original Cottage Carrier, with Mandie working on the 12-inch version. Debbie (in the forefront) working on her Creel and Cindy oiling her base. (Poor Debbie… she was at the end of the table, so any pics I took from this side of the room, I only got the back of her head!)

Here she is with her Creel basket all completed and on her Round Swing No. 5. And Joyce, with that smile she always has on, working on a new “Smalls” basket.

Next is Woody working on the Legacy Oval basket and then giving Joyce a hug after we were teasing her about all her talking!

I will be posting something “all about Joyce” very soon. She will either love me or want to throw her daily sliced oranges at me! LOL.

I will also be posting about a show-and-tell that student Michelle brought to show everyone. Wait, not one show-and-tell but two posts! So stay tuned! And can I add here, that she had the best vintage t-shirt collection?

I’m now all caught up with Workshop photos. The next one is here in two weeks.

I will close, by repeating what I wrote yesterday. To everyone who came here, and who will come over the next months, to take a class from Eric, THANK YOU for supporting an American Craftsman during the last year and a half. You have no idea what it means to us and that he is so grateful that he was able to continue not only his work, but his livelihood as well. And this includes the many, many sales of kits, tools and commissioned baskets Eric has made. WE are both so THANKFUL!
