Virtual Workshop: from Tennessee to the Northwest

Yesterday was the first day of Eric’s Virtual Workshop with the Columbia Basin Basketry Guild
out of Portland, Oregon. And since I need to be in the workshop with Eric to adjust camera and “assist,” I’ve been able to finally sit and process the many photos for the blog that I have yet to post. Have two workshops that were held here I need to upload and a whole bunch of other stuff.

But so far, the virtual class is going great. Today is day 2 and everyone is moving along! Eric has 12 students hailing from: Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Nevada and one from Alaska.

Here’s the start of yesterday’s class…

Usually, Eric would not be making a basket during a workshop, but to do it virtually, he needed to do the same basket so everyone could follow along. That makes me happy because I get to keep the new wall pouch for myself (or I could sell it! lol)

Below are some snaps of Eric checking in with the students about their progress…

CoCo Kitty, the shop cat, occasionally popped into view but when she wasn’t visible, she clearly was keeping an eye on everyone…

Some pics from today’s session…

It was unusually quiet in the workshop with everyone busy weaving today.

Will post some more pics of final session tomorrow—attaching the rims and handles!

Also want to thank Miss Candace who is Eric’s moderator for his class. She is awesome!!
