Art in the Studio (Surrounded by Yellow Tape)

Okay. Eric, and my mom, and my sister and a couple more of you out there (and I’m waiting for the call from my friend Karen any second now) have been reminding me that I am supposed to be posting my artwork as well on this blog! Not just the goings on in the house, the baskets and the dog’s antics but I find those things so much more interesting! So my usual response has been: I know… I know… And for the third one, I will speak in the voice I used when I was 16 years old and my mother would remind me that I promised to clean up my room months ago —“I KNOW!!” (Visually acompanied by my well-practiced teenaged eye roll). So I’ll put my big girl pants on and stop the excuses! Pictured is one of my 30 x 40 inch paintings I have been working on for probably the last two years! (I hear you saying “How can that be? It’s just a bunch of gray paint and some boxes??”) Eric can attest to this lengthy fact. But before I look entirely wayward, there are five more in progress as well. But the other ones I — no big surprise here — became frustrated with just as much as this one. So they have been on an equal rotation of a love-hate progression. Why did I use caution tape in the title? Because when I’m frustrated, Eric knows to stay out of my small alcove of a studio as if it’s surrounded by tape.

**Karen E., if you are reading this, no need to call! I know you’re up at the crack of dawn, but remember, I get up about, oh, let’s see… 5 hours later than you???

  1. Thanks Tess! Appreciate that. Currently I am not showing anywhere. I’ve been in the process of transitioning styles and refining. Probably in another year I will get back in a gallery. Thanks for reading!
