Go Cassidy and the Londonderry Lightning Team!

I grew up next door to a bunch of loud and crazy cousins. One of them, Chris, I also had to share a classroom with for 8 years because we were the same age (well, he is a few months older). Anyways he married this really cool chick named Dana and they have five, yes that is 5, amazing kids. And one of them, his smart and talented daughter Cassidy and her softball team from Londonderry, New Hampshire, qualified for the August World Series in Florida! Yah!

fundraiser-page-2But they need to raise money real quick to actually send the team south to compete! We’re talking all the girls, the coaches and the assistant coach (who happens to be my “really old” cousin Chris), and family members of the team—this big bunch need to get plane tickets, hotel rooms, rental cars, etc. etc.

That’s expensive! So they are in the midst of major fundraising. And I’m so happy to host a page on my website to help the girls raise some money! If you know any of the girls from the Londonderry Lightning or you yourself played softball when you were a kid, please go to their fundraising page and donate! Every little bit will help and 100 percent of the donations go to the girls! I remember when I played softball when I was her age. My team was named the Astros and we stunk. I mean, really stunk. We never won a game! Oh wait. I think we did win one when half of the other team was sick and I believe they forfeited. I digress…

The Londonderry Lightning are part of the Under 12 Girls Babe Ruth Softball League located in New Hampshire. The girls won the World Series Qualifier which automatically places them in the World Series, but they have to fund their entire trip. If they would have won the Regional Tournament, then their trip would have been funded by the National Committee, but since they won via a qualifier, they have to pay their own way to get there August 1st.
