Our Rating of the Howard “Inn” in Virginia

Being budget-conscious artists, receiving a generous offer of a room for the night while attending a party in honor of the Renwick exhibit, helped us finalize the decision to make the long trek towards D.C.

Now one would think a “free place to stay” would not warrant a rating score from us. I mean it’s free! And the Howards are GOOD people! However, we felt compelled to. What if someone will be staying there soon? We need to let them now what they’re in for…

yankees-nightstandEntertaining conversation before retiring to bed: 5 Stars
Fantastic cottage-bohemian decor in the guest room: 5 Stars
Extremely comfortable bed: 5 Stars
Great (and addicting) popcorn snacks: 5 Stars
Super quiet and relaxing: 5 Stars
Nice sunlight streaming through the large windows in the morning: 5 Stars
In-Room entertainment? Not so good. A “Zero” star was planned, but it did lead to the subject of today’s post, so we’re giving it a 1/2 Star. Yes, Miss Joanne… that Yankees magazine did not go unnoticed by the Red Sox-obsessed Mr. Basketmaker!

This is a belated “thank you” to Steve and Joanne for letting us stay the night after attending the Cole-Ware’s Open House! We had a great evening (despite the bedside reading materials!)
