Last Thanksgiving, I was making fun of my mother-in-law that almost our entire meal was created from recipes she ripped out of magazines.
“I thought recipes were only used for ‘fillers’ and that nobody every tried them!” I stated.
Shows how much I know. And, that I don’t really cook.
However, I finally have ripped out a recipe from a magazine that I will be trying this weekend when my old college roommate comes for a visit!
Yup. It’s a cocktail recipe: Ginger Margarita. And I love that it says it will only take 5 minutes! Now that is my kind of recipe! But I need to go to the next county over to get the ingredients. The one we now live in is semi-dry, meaning NO wine or liquor! 🙁
I always love reading the recipes in magazines but usually do not use them. I am an old southern cook that learned dishes from scratch the way my Mom taught me which is “mix it till it looks right”??? However, I love the recipe for the Mint Julep. I had those at the Derby one year and I was hooked. Have a great visit!
I guess that’s why I don’t cook… my mom only cooked out of necessity! If she didn’t, we would all starve! LOL. (just teasing mom if you are reading this! 🙂 )
Yes, the Mint Julep looks tasty as well! Thanks for reading Pat!
Sounds yummy! Have a great time!
