Lavender, Vanilla & Pandora’s box.

As promised, I said I would post more info about Eric’s latest baskets so here they are!

First is a sweet little “Lavender Basket.” Size is 7 x 4.25 x 8 (including handle).

Next is a basket titled “Pandora’s Box.” I believe this will be another series, but don’t quote me on that! However, I will put a bug in his ear since I would love to see more baskets under this title. The dimensions of this basket is 5.5 x 4.5 x 9 inches (including handle).

I’m also keen on this basket because I was finally able to incorporate my wood hand into a photo! lol. I wonder if I can convince him to make a lid for this???

Next is one of my favs because of the narrow shape—the “Vanilla Bean” basket. Its size is 8.5 x 3.75 x 9 (including handle)

By the way, the soap was made by Eric using slices of my Luffa that we grow here in McMinnville. And yes, it is infused with Vanilla oils. Smells great.

And finally the Cumberland Round Series: 6, 8 and 10-inch baskets shown (measured from inside).

It sort of got it’s name from the nearby Cumberland Plateau which is the southern part of the Appalachian Plateau in the Appalachian Mountains and runs through our county. When Middle Tennessee weather says there is a chance of snow, the Cumberland Plateau always will get snow and we usually do as well. And when we were naming his new baskets, we were in the middle of a snow storm here.

As most of you already know, these baskets are made from hand-pounded Black Ash with the handles and rims made from Cherry. I’ve had lots of new followers who may not be familiar with Eric but 99.9% of his baskets are made from these materials. He pounds the Black Ash up in Wisconsin and finishes the process here in his workshop.

After Eric gets rims and handles on more “new” baskets, I will be sure to post soon!
