Another successful Black Ash haul

I am so behind on posting. What’s new, right? Anyway, I took a hiatus from social media. Shut down my twitter and Facebook. Kept Instagram active but didn’t post on mine or Izzy’s page a long time. And it’s been awesome! I’ve gotten so many home projects done over the last year. It’s been liberating actually.

Anyway, I need to post past workshop photos here in Tennessee especially since we have another group arriving next week. But I wanted to share a photo Eric sent me yesterday right before getting back on the road to head home. He’s been gone 11 days. First stop was in St. Louis for a workshop at Tony Stubblefield’s for four days. Then he continued north to Wisconsin to harvest more Black Ash. And here’s his latest haul…

Now it looks nice and sunny in this pic but it was not the case while he was there. I heard it was rough going over the last week with temperatures dropping down to the 30s and sleeting rain. He called me several times saying he couldn’t feel his fingers it was so cold. But he wanted to pound as much Black Ash as he could. So it might not have been the easiest trip this time but it was a successful one. I think he said this was the most he’s processed in one block of time. I know the work is grueling on the body and I’m just so proud of him!!!
