Can this be considered a love note?

I think I wrote earlier that I quit Twitter and Facebook, and stopped posting on Instagram and the blog sort of got neglected with my social media hiatus. So, I got this little note from Mr. Basketmaker…

“I know you took a break away from social media but enough is enough. Break time is over and you need to get back to your blog. People miss it! You can still quit everything else, but get back to the blog. Thank you.”

Love, ERIC

Not sure it’s a “love note” however this message was not only needed, but heard!

But can I say how awesome it was to not have any Facebook notifications? This past year I got my life back. Worked on so many projects and actually completing them! It was kind of freeing not to see or know what anyone else was doing.

It sort of began when a family member, in response to my reaction to some Facebook posts, said you must be hurting. Hurting?? I never understood that response. But I finally got it. What hurt was reading about family members posting horrible things about other people — the same people you personally believe in. The terrible words written about a group of people without a care in the world. I was so shocked and dumbfounded. Especially since they were talking about ME and my beliefs! It was becoming so disheartening and making me angry. I would never post things that could insult people I know like that. And when I read about sweet Erin Napier, of Hometown on HGTV with her husband Ben, feeling like she was being attacked on Facebook and how horrible it became for her that she shut her account down, I knew I wanted to do the same thing. I had to do the same thing! It was becoming maddening.

But Eric is right. I’ve neglected the blog for too long and I have so many posts that I’ve done but never uploaded. So tonight is in honor of the wickedly fun Kokomo Girls that came here for a workshop with Eric two months ago. And for those who can handle Facebook properly (not getting all enmeshed like me) feel free to share! LOL

In the back, Deanna and Laurene working on the Fishing Creel. Up front, Bonnie getting started on the Tissue Caddy.
Izzy visiting Carla who was finishing her weaving on the Mountain Bread. Deanna and Laurene moved onto Eric’s workbench in the other room to work on their Creel lids.
Joan working on her Round basket and Sheree weaving the large Legacy Swing.
I knew this was a great workshop because look at Eric smiling for photos! That rarely happens! LOL
Thanks ladies for a fun workshop. And a great Open House too. I had lots of fun talking about our kitchen renovation, my gallery and all the little things collected in our house. It was a great time.
