Five Q’s Friday: Zoom!

I’m back with some questions on Eric’s Basket Zoom Class…

Q: Okay, first one not really a question. I know you’ve been irritated that during my “social media Blackout” I also included the blog in there. You still mad at me?
Eric: No! I know you like to take breaks here and there and you’ve had lots of other projects going on. You have done a great job with this blog. I am very proud of what you created.

Q: How do you think your first virtual zoom class went?
Eric: OK, I am going to say that I was pleasantly pleased how well it went. To be honest, I was a little nervous how it would all translate. We had twelve students with two cameras per student. We couldn’t have done it without Candace our moderator and you Lynne, overseeing and helping adjust the camera to different views. This took a lot to pull off and I think it went perfectly.

Q: I know you have been nervous about it when the dates were getting closer. Did you ever think this zoom class would go terrible?
Eric: Yes! And from day one when I agreed to participate in the “virtual convention”. There were too many opportunities for something to go wrong since I’ve never heard of anyone doing a virtual basket class, let alone me doing it. But it really worked out well. At times, it was difficult to see some of the student’s closeups of their baskets and occasionally I felt like I was working blind. But we all made the best of it and it all worked out. Also need to attribute it to the talented students!

Q: I know I mentioned this before and you said “absolutely no!” But now that you have a complete virtual class under your belt, do you think you would hold your own private zoom workshop?
Eric: I think I might. This experience has been very helpful. There are a lot of logistics to work out, but I can see great things. I would need you to be the host. I’m confident you could do it but Candace was a rockstar. And had to moderate not only my ‘screen’ but 12 other students!
Yeah, I don’t think I could handle 12 students. You would probably have to keep it small. No way I could do what Candace did!!!

Q: Now for your favorite…What irritated you this week?
Eric: Oh, I have the perfect answer that I would like to tell everyone but I really can’t. All I can say, is it took place towards the last few minutes of my zoom class. I will leave it at that.
Yeah, that sort of left me speechless! LOL. But I felt great when it was done. I thought you did a fantastic job!
***disclaimer: Eric’s “irritation” had nothing to do with the whole CLASS. He loved this virtual workshop and is very happy! More of an inside thing with a few knowing about it. Hey – I try and convince Eric what’s a good answer or what may not be the best… but he’s the BOSS! LOL And HUGE shoutout to CBBG’s “Zoom into Weaving: Think outside the Basket” Virtual convention. From what I saw and witnessed, they did an outstanding job getting this organized!!

Note: I will post more about Eric’s Zoom Class – the pros and cons. Don’t get us wrong – nothing beats being here for one of Eric’s workshops. I’ll write more later.
