National Dog Day

So I was all set to do a follow-up on Monday’s post about splitting to satin. And right in the middle of it, my cousin Kerryn called and informed me that today is National Dog Day. And Eric proceeded to say, “You don’t know that it’s National Dog Day?”

Yeah, no. I didn’t. (SIGH…)

So here’s some info: Created in 2004, National Dog Day has grown and is now celebrated across the world. Since that day, it is estimated that approximately one million dogs have been saved through adoption in the U.S.

For dog owners, National Dog Day has become a day for treating their friend like the legend they are and enjoying the connection that they’ve built up with dogs over thousands of years.

Hey that’s us! Dog owners!

And I want to honer Izzy, our latest rescue who has brought so much joy to our lives. However, she was not having this photo shoot!!!

Bleh!!!

Not doing it….

Really, this is overtime…

Not having it…

Grrrrrrrrr……..

Okay… no more pics I get it. But we still love her…

Shelter pets are the best. They really are. And they show you the simple joys in life, as well as keeping you grounded and keeping you in check. We highly recommend visiting your local shelter and rescuing a forgotten and homeless animal.

It will change your life.
