5Q’s Friday: Cowboy Candy

Q: Are you upset that your “split to satin” post on Wednesday got replaced by National Dog Day?
Eric: No, I thought the Izzy pics were great. I love the grrr one. How did you get her to do that?
I think her ‘lip’ got stuck on her gums when closing her mouth.

Q: What exactly are in these jars?
Eric: I can’t believe you took the photo with the reddish one in front. Now I’m going to have to explain. I had a batch of Jalapeños that I needed to do something with. A student suggested to make Cowboy Candy or Candied Jalapeños. I tried it a week or so ago and it turned out great. This is my second batch. The red one is an experiment, lol! I had extra of the candied liquid but no more Jalapeños. I wondered what do I have around to fill the last jar with. Bingo, radishes! Now I’m thinking this could go horribly wrong or I have created something great. Maybe someone has done this, which I’m sure, but I haven’t.

Candied Radishes? I do not like radishes to start! Won’t be trying those.

Q: When are you going to try them?
Eric: Hey, that would be great for next week. I will taste-test the radishes and let you know. The Jalapeños I all ready know are good. The radishes could be horrible—I give it a 30% chance of being good.

Q: So now that you blew the motor on a third projector, can we convert your movie room into a craft room for me? Like I can set up my sewing machine permanently, have a section for my clay and make tiles, and oh! I can get the photo booth out of my office area and into here! What do you think?
Eric: It’s really been only two, so let’s not exaggerate. And the Patriots will be playing in a few weeks and I plan on watching it on the big screen. So the answer to your question is NO.
Im pretty sure this is the third one.

Q: What aggravated you this week?
Eric: You guess.
You burning out a third projector?
Not third, and yes.
